Bibby Marine places order for world’s first zero-emission eCSOV

Liverpool-headquartered Bibby Marine has placed an order with Spanish shipbuilder Gondan for what, it says, will be the world’s first truly zero-emission, electric commissioning service operation vessel (eCSOV). It will be built in Gondan’s Asturias shipyard and is scheduled to be delivered in 2026.

Longitude Engineering to take eSOV design to next level

London-headquartered Longitude Engineering has been selected to design the world-first zero-emission electric Service Operation Vessel (eSOV) that a consortium led by Bibby Marine plans to build (see earlier story). The project has recently been awarded GBP 20 million (about $25 million) in U.K. government funding under the Zero Emission Vessel and Infrastructure (ZEVI) competition.

Cummins methanol retrofit kit project wins U.K. funding

Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) reports that its proposal to develop a methanol retrofit kit for its QSK60 engine has been awarded GBP 4.4 million (about $5.36 million) in total funding through the U.K. Government’s Zero Emission Vessels and Infrastructure (ZEVI) competition.
