A cement carrier ran aground on the west coast of Iceland on Saturday, November 3, because of the heavy waves and weather conditions. The crew and the pilot controlling the carrier were rescued by a helicopter.
According to reports the 1976-aged Fjordvik was supposed to head to the Port of Helguvik. The carrier had a matirime pilot on board, who tried to maneuver the carrier, missed the harbor and ended up to the rocky breakwater.
