Hapag-Lloyd to apply port congestion in Bejaia

Hapag-Lloyd announces that its operations in Bejaia (Algeria) are suffering from increased delays due to current port congestion.

Given these circumstances, Hapag-Lloyd will implement a Congestion Surcharge (CGD) on all import shipments to Bejaia, effective as from August 15, 2019 as follows:

  • USD 100/TEU for all trades

“Once an improvement of the situation in Bejaia is evident, we will consider waiving or mitigating above mentioned surcharge in due course,” the German shipping company says.
