In a move designed to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as a centre for maritime activities, Abu Dhabi Ports (ADP) has been assigned as the primary custodian of all of Abu Dhabi’s waterways and marine systems, through the creation of a new organisation called Abu Dhabi Maritime, formed by the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT).
