India Becomes Part of U.S-Led Navy Alliance to Check Growing Chinese Dominance

In a recent development, India became a part of the US-led navy alliance, the CMF or Combined Maritime Forces. This alliance has 43 countries as its members.

Political experts view it as a vital change from India’s policy of autonomy in defence to collaborating with other nations.

In April, the Indian Navy undertook a mission called Crimson Barracuda, in which it confiscated around 940 kg of cocaine. This operation was done jointly with the CMF.
