Houston-headquartered Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corporation (NASDAQ:GLDD) has exercised a contract option to build a second 6,500-cubic-yard-capacity trailing suction hopper dredge (TSHD) at Conrad Shipyard in Amelia, La.

Conrad Shipyard to build two tugs for USACE

Morgan City, La., headquartered Conrad Shipyard LLC has won a $16,983,710 firm-fixed-price contract to build two tugboats for use in the Great Lakes. Bids were solicited via the internet with five received.

Work will be performed in Morgan City with an estimated completion date of Dec. 26, 2024.

Conrad Shipyard expects to deliver first YRBM barge in 2023

Conrad Shipyard LLC, Morgan City, La., has now released some more details about the major U.S. Navy contract it was awarded earlier this week.

The Yard, Repair, Berthing, and Messing (YRBM) barges provide a temporary home away from home and workplace for service men and women whose vessels are in port for repairs and/or maintenance. Conrad’s design incorporates functional spaces that allow the sailors to work, sleep, and eat comfortably.
