Container ship loses over 30 containers in North Sea

The mega container ship MSC ZOE lost over 30 containers during the night from January 1 to January 2 in North sea during rough weather, north of Borkum, Germany. The ship was heading from Sines Portugal to Bremerhaven Germany.

As of now, reports mention that 18 containers have been located, while 7 were washed in Netherlands, in Vlieland and Terschelling area. Their content was scattered around, consisting of car parts and toys.

BIMCO: Shipping industry searches for future growth

BIMCO released some of its reflections regarding the growth of global shipping. Namely, BIMCO said that developing countries will play a key role in the next five years, something that will affect shipping as well.

Port of Oakland beats record for November imports

The Port of Oakland informed that it had its busiest November ever for imports in 2018, shattering an 11-year-old record. The Port handled the equivalent of 83,364 loaded 20-foot import containers last month.

This amount beat the old November record of 76,902 containers set in 2007. In fact, November imports increased 15% over the same period in 2017.
