Hard on the heels of handing over the research vessel Kaiao to the Pacific Whale Foundation in Hawaii, Port Angeles, Wash., based BRIX Marine recently delivered the whale watching boat Eagle to Allen Marine Whale Watching Tours in Alaska. While the 30-foot Kaiao is part of the BRIX Marine LabCat portfolio., the 48 foot long by 18 foot beam, 4818-HTC Eagle is the latest addition to the company’s PaxCat portfolio.

In June, Garmin released its new dezl Headset series.

For the past month, the Garmin dezl Headset 200 has been hanging on my dash. Not being the biggest fan of driving for hours with an overhead headset, I couldn’t believe the comfort and ease of operations once I gave it a try. The clarity, comfort and the time it gave me to communicate with my GPS, receive calls, join meetings via audio while not driving and stay connected with my family and friends is well worth the price.

Survey: 30% of drivers fully satisfied with their ELD

Road Hunter surveyed its app users for ELD provider information.

Based on a recent survey, there is a market for potentially 70% of truck drivers surveyed to switch electronic logging device (ELD) providers, said Road Hunter founder Mikhail Dzarasov.

In an interview with FreightWaves, Dzarasov said he conducted a survey among Road Hunter’s app users to find out more about their ELD providers with the intent to form new partnerships with major providers. Those strategic partnerships, he said, would enable Road Hunter to give its users more useful information.

Brix Marine delivers luxury water taxi

Brix Marine (formerly Armstrong Marine USA), Port Angeles, Wash., has delivered a new 4615-CTC luxury water taxi, Liberty National I, to Liberty National Golf Club after successful launch and sea trials in Port Angeles Harbor.

Liberty National Golf Club selected the Brix Marine design last year and will utilize the planing catamaran to transport passengers between North Cove Marina in New York City and the private club’s dock in New Jersey.
