Hapag-Lloyd has signed a long-term agreement with Goldwind, a global clean energy solution provider based in Beijing, China, to receive 250,000 tonnes of green methanol annually.
Green methanol, a blend of bio- and e-methanol, will reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by at least 70% and meet all relevant sustainability certification standards, according to the German shipping company.
