Hapag-Lloyd announces the introduction of an additional eastbound  call at Manzanillo, Panama  as enhancement to the schedule of its Mediterranean Pacific Service (MPS).

Accordingly, the updated port rotation eastbound reads as follows:

Seattle – Vancouver – Oakland –  Long Beach – Manzanillo, Mexico – Manzanillo, Panama  – Cartagena – Tangier – Valencia – Livorno – Genoa – Barcelona

HL applies GRI from East Asia to USA & Canada

Hapag-Lloyd will implement the following General Rate Increase (GRI) in the eastbound trade from East Asia to all USA and Canada destinations as of August 15, 2019 (date of cargo receipt at origin).

This General Rate Increase will apply for all dry, reefer, non-operating reefer, tank, flat rack and open-top containers as follows:

East Asia to North America (USA and Canada)

  • USD 560 per all 20′ container types
  • USD 700 per all 40′ container types

Maersk Blockchain Platform Grows With Hapag-Lloyd and ONE Addition

In a major development, Hapag-Lloyd and Singapore-based Ocean Network Express (ONE) Pte. Ltd announced that they will join the blockchain-enabled digital shipping platform, TradeLens jointly developed by A.P. Moller – Maersk and IBM, says a press release published in Maersk Website.

This new integration shows “the rapid adoption of TradeLens across the global shipping supply chain”, says the press release.

Hapag-Lloyd Orders Record Breaking 13,420 Reefer Containers

Hapag-Lloyd has placed a record order for the refrigerated containers known as “reefers”, says a press release published on their website.

Australia, New Zealand: Fumigation Requirements

Hapag-Lloyd announces that the Australian Government’s Department of Agriculture and the New Zealand Governments Ministry of Primary Industries have issued revised measures regarding fumigation against the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug.

Foregoing takes effect as from September 1, 2019, running through to May 31, 2020, ex the US and Canadian East and West coasts and US Gulf coast ports of loading.
