Kongsberg to lead major green upgrade of NCA hybrid vessel OV Bøkfjord

The Norwegian Coastal Administration (NCA) has selected Kongsberg Maritime to serve as lead integrator for a significant green upgrade of its hybrid vessel, OV Bøkfjord. The project will include installation of Kongsberg Maritime’s electric rim-drive azimuth thrusters, together with an upgrade of hybrid capacity.

CN testing hybrid biofuel-ready locomotive

Canadian railway CN announced the launch of its medium-horsepower hybrid-electric locomotive developed in collaboration with Knoxville Locomotive Works (KLW) of Tennessee. 

The Montreal-based company said the biofuel-ready locomotive will undergo testing across its network as a pilot project, to evaluate its potential to enhance operational efficiency and fuel savings.

Hong Kong & Kowloon Ferry Limited (HKKF) has taken delivery of two new state-of-the-art hybrid ferries.
