Kongsberg wins contract for two new UT7623 SEV design vessels

Kongsberg Maritime has signed at contract for the design of two UT7623 SEV design multipurpose subsea vessels for Fosnavåg, Norway-headquartered Olympic Group.

The “SEV” in the designation stands for “Sustainable Energy Vessel” and they will be methanol-ready and feature battery hybrid technology. The first references for Kongsberg Maritime’s latest subsea construction vessel designs, they will feature a fully integrated package of Kongsberg technology.

ST Engineering opts for Kongsberg design for new walk-to-work OSV

Kongsberg Maritime is to supply the design and integrated equipment package for a new walk-to-work offshore service vessel (OSV), to be built by ST Engineering Marine in Singapore for an undisclosed leading oil & gas company.

The 97-meter OSV will be built to Kongsberg Maritime UT 5520 design. It will accommodate 106 people and features a motion-compensated gangway to enable safe transfer of personnel to and from offshore installations.

Kongsberg Maritime delivers Reach Remote 1 USV

Haugesund, Norway-based Reach Subsea ASA has taken delivery of the Reach Remote 1 USV. The cutting edge uncrewed 24-meter surface vessel is equipped with hull-mounted survey sensors and a Work Class electric ROV. A second vessel, Reach Remote 2 is set to begin sea trials soon, with delivery to follow shortly after.

Kongsberg marks delivery of 1,500th thruster to Damen

Damen Shipyards Group and Kongsberg Maritime have celebrated the delivery of the 1,500th Kongsberg azimuth thruster to Damen, in a relationship spanning more than 40 years.

After years in which orders for new platform supply vessels (PSVs) were a rarity, Evangelos Marinakis’ Capital Offshore is changing things up, including by placing an order with China’s Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding for 10 PSVs of MMC 897 CD design.
