Maritime Union RMT today said that the sale of P&O Ferries for £322m from Dubai World to Dubai Ports World raised fresh concerns over the future direction of shipping and ports policy in the UK, including the Port of Dover.

ITF opposes BHP’s decision to end 100 years of Australian shipping

22 January 2019 – The International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) today expressed opposition to the decision of BHP to dump Australian crew from two vessels that carried iron ore from Port Hedland in Western Australia to steelworks in Port Kembla and to China.

Seafarer union RMT demands Government action to halt latest threat to North Sea jobs

SEAFARER union RMT today demanded Government intervention to prevent the loss of hundreds of Scottish and UK seafarer Ratings’ jobs following Tidewater’s buy out of Gulfmark to form the world’s largest offshore supply vessel (OSV) company.
