ClassNK approves NYK Line’s 3D design drawings of multi-purpose container ship

ClassNK has approved the basic design drawings of a multi-purpose container carrier developed by Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK Line) utilizing 3D models.

NYK buys UK-based logistics firm

International Logistics Group (ILG), a UK subsidiary of NYK Line’s Yusen Logistics, acquired Noel Topco, a UK-based holding company of 10 companies, including Global Freight Solutions (GFS).

The acquisition is part of the logistics business growth strategy outlined in the medium-term management plan announced by the NYK Group in March 2023.

NYK said the acquisition realizes ambidextrous management, which aims for growth through the investment of profits from existing businesses in new ones.

NYK Line bridge simulator advances offshore wind training in Japan

An advanced full mission bridge simulator for offshore wind operations developed by NYK Line and Damen Services is set to be inaugurated in Akita, Japan, on April 1. NYK Line orders MAN ME-GA engines with EGR for new LNG carrier quartet

Japan’s NYK Line has ordered MAN B&W ME-GA engines for four 174,000 cubic meter LNG carrier newbuilds. Each ship will have two 5G70ME-GA Mk. 10.5 engines and all eight engines will feature MAN Energy Solutions’ proprietary EGR BP (Exhaust Gas Recirculation ByPass) emissions-reduction technology.

NYK Line to trial long-term biofuel use
