Yilport takes over Italian port Taranto

Yilport Holding officially took over the Italian Port of Taranto’s container terminal on a 49-year concession agreement with Port Network Authority of the Ionian Sea (PNAIS).

Port of Helsinki applies for EU funding investment for sustainability projects

Port of Helsinki and its partners issued to the European Union three funding applications in relation to the port’s environmental future, aiming towards a better environment and sustainability.

Ningbo-Zhoushan Port to strengthen its handling capacity

Ningbo-Zhoushan Port plans to raise $1.6 billion in order to upgrade its facility. Specifically, the port will expand six container terminals which are estimated to increase its annual handling capacity to more than 32 million TEU from 5.6 million TEU during 2020.

Sri Lanka to conduct feasibility study for Colombo North Port development

Sri Lanka Ports Authority has planned to develop a new port, the Colombo North Port, in the northern side of the existing Port of Colombo. The proposed Colombo North Port may spread from the Kelani River in the Modara area, up to the existing northern breakwater of the Colombo Port.

SLPA intends to use the proposed Colombo North Port for liquid bulk, dry bulk, Ro Ro and containers. The North Port has been planned to be implemented in stages, depending on the demand.

W. Africa container terminal to enter Phase 2 upgrade

Port of Hamburg seaborne cargo throughput increases by 1.1% in 2019

EIB loans port of Ystad €41.75m for greener vessel accommodation
