Mega-ships reach Port of Wilmington, after air draft expansion

Port of Wilmington recently informed that ultra-large container ships will find it easier to reach the port, as an air draft over the Cape Fear River has been increased to 212 feet. Specifically, vessels with a carrying capacity of 14.000 TEUs will navigate safely and more efficiently to Wilmington.

Port of Gdynia launched market test for new deep-sea and container terminals

Port of Gdynia Authority announced the launch of a market test of private partners and financial institutions for the purpose of the planned project named “Construction of the Outer Port in the Port of Gdynia”.

The project involves the construction of a new deep-sea port terminal along with a container terminal with an annual transshipment capacity of 2.5 million TEU. The new facility will enable oceanic Baltimax size container ships to dock in the port.

Port Felixstowe upgrades its rail connectivity

Hutchison Ports’ Port of Felixstowe, in the UK, upgraded its roll on – roll off facilities, with the new connection being the 36th daily service from the UK’s largest container port.
