Liverpool box terminal expansion nears the next phase of completion

Peel Ports Group, the owner of the Port of Liverpool, has received an additional five cantilever rail-mounted gantry (CRMG) cranes on 7 January, as part of the next phase of growth at Liverpool2, the port’s deep-water container terminal.

The 2M Alliance replaces Felixstowe with Liverpool for Atlantic services

The 2M Alliance will change its UK port call from Felixstowe to Liverpool on its TA2/NEUATL2 transatlantic service from next week.

Liverpool sets new container record

Liverpool2, The Port of Liverpool’s deep water container terminal, has broken a new terminal record after the MSC Federica docked and exchanged 5,452 TEU, the highest number seen from a single vessel in Liverpool since the terminal opened in 2016.

The vessel is part of MSC’s Turkey Canada service which includes calls at Montreal, Liverpool, Sines, Valencia, Barcelona and Tekirdağ amongst other terminals. This service directly links Liverpool to the Far East.

UK Shipping Minister visits port of Liverpool

The Port of Liverpool welcomed Shipping Minister of United Kingdom Nusrat Ghani MP last week (Wednesday 22 January) as she visited the heart of Merseyside’s maritime community.

The Minister was given a tour of the port, including the Liverpool2 container terminal, and heard about Peel Ports’ plans to help UK-based businesses reach overseas markets.

Port of Liverpool achieves monthly record in container volumes

Peel Ports’ port of Liverpool achieved a record in its container operations, as its quayside and landside throughput in October exceeded all previous numbers with a year on year growth of 12%, by connecting the cargoes with 16 shipping lines.

Peel Ports ready to limit Brexit trade traffic
