Maersk adds King Abdulaziz Port in Shaheen Express service

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) announced the addition of King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, Saudi Arabia to Maersk’s Shaheen Express service.

The weekly service links King Abdulaziz Port to regional hubs such as Jebel Ali in the United Arab Emirates and Mundra and Pipavav in India with the container ship Big Dog, which has a carrying capacity of 1,740 TEUs.

Saudi Ports boost container volumes in October

Container throughput across the ports in Saudi Arabia continued its upward year-on-year movement during October 2022, soaring to 694,517 TEUs, translating to an increase of 15.33%.

Saudi Ports Authority to upgrade Jeddah Islamic Port with new berths

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has signed two contracts worth US$170 million with major contractors in order to deepen and build new berths at Jeddah Islamic Port aiming to enable the arrival of 24,000 TEU container vessels.

Saudi ports achieve 5.5% box volume growth in June

The number of containers in Saudi Arabian ports in June increased by 5.5% and reached 642,300 TEU compared to 608,800 TEU recorded in the same month last year.

At the same time, the transshipment sector saw a growth of 4.2% with a total of 244,600 TEU.

DP World, Mawani ink partnership deal for Jeddah logistics park

DP World and the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) signed a 30-year agreement with an investment value of more than US$133.33 million to build a port-centric logistics park at the Jeddah Islamic Port.

Saudi ports exceed 600,000 TEU in May

Saudi Ports’ container throughput reached 600,107 TEU in May, translating to a slight increase of 1.38% compared to the figure recorded last year in the same period.
