South Carolina Ports (SC Ports) maintained fluidity for vessels calling the East Coast while handling a record number of containers in September.

South Carolina Ports (SC Ports) efficiently handled a container ship at the deepest draft to-date, reinforcing the importance of Charleston Harbor’s new 52-foot depth.

SC Ports completes infrastructure project, reports 216,000 TEU in July

Fifteen ship-to-shore cranes stand above the wharf deck at the Wando Welch Terminal, efficiently handling mega container ships in the Port of Charleston.

The last crane was recently moved into position along the waterfront. With five cranes to a berth, the Wando Welch Terminal is able to efficiently operate three 14,000 TEU vessels at the same time.

SC Ports handled 2.85 million TEU in FY2022

South Carolina Ports (SC Ports) has achieved a record fiscal year 2022, handling 2.85 million TEU through Wando Welch Terminal, North Charleston Terminal and Leatherman Terminal.
