X-Press Feeders to deploy ZeroNorth platform across its entire fleet

X-Press Feeders has agreed to deploy the ZeroNorth platform across its entire fleet of feeder vessels to improve profits and accelerate its decarbonisation process.

Under the terms of the agreement, the ZeroNorth platform and suite of vessel, voyage and Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) optimisation services will be used on more than 100 X-Press Feeders ships.

Cargo debris outside X-Press Pearl wreckage safety zone fully recovered

All cargo debris outside the 1,000-metre safety zone of the X-Press Pearl wreckage has been recovered from water depths over 10 metres.

X-Press Feeders, the ship owner, released a statement this month, detailing an update on the recovery works.

Due to the monsoon season, salvage work on the newly built 2,756 TEU X-Press Pearl, which went up in flames off Colombo, Sri Lanka, on 20 May 2021, will be suspended in April before resuming in November.

Massive MSC newbuilding plan presents opportunity for mid-tier shipyards

As major shipyards are more or less booked till 2025, mid-tier shipbuilders are eyeing a slice of the pie as MSC is seeking to construct two dozen 8,000 TEU container ships.

The salvage of X-Press Pearl is expected to be completed in April 2023, after the first of four phases have been almost completed.
