Landing craft grounded on Kodiak Island

The Coast Guard and contractors worked to prevent pollution from a landing craft that ran aground Tuesday on Kodiak Island, Alaska.

Two crew members were unhurt during the incident, when the 74’x21’ freight barge Don Quixote began taking on water and was intentionally grounded by its operator about two miles south of Cape Kuliuk.
