Sri Lanka’s Colombo Dockyard PLC (CDPLC) has secured a contract to build a cable laying and repair vessel for Orange Marine France, which specialises in submarine telecommunications. The proposed vessel, designed by Vard Design of Norway, will be equipped for sub-sea cable laying and repair duties with a high focus on good sea keeping qualities, excellent station keeping performance and low fuel consumption.
