Judge Fadi Sawan, the investigator into the Beirut Port explosion on 4 August, that killed around 200 people and injured thousands of others, has charged the caretaker prime minister, Hassan Diab with negligence according to the official Lebanese news agency.

Ship captain, owner sought in Port of Beirut explosion case

Arrest warrants have been issued for the Russian captain and owner of the vessel that carried the ammonium nitrate believed to have caused the massive Port of Beirut explosion.

Al Jazeera said the final tally was 193 people dead, 6,500 wounded and 300,000 homeless as a result of the Aug. 4 blast, blamed on 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate that had been stored in a Port of Beirut warehouse.

New Beirut port fire rocks the city

Another fire at the troubled Port of Beirut, less than five weeks after an explosion killed 200 and injured thousands has broken out, with locals saying the fire was caused by welding work again being undertaken in the wake of the first explosion on 4 August.
